Rebuilding in real time when life feels stuck or circumstances seem impossible.
Honest lessons on changing habits, finding hope and becoming better than before.
@Annemarieward And in a nation where we have GIRFEC and the SHANNARI wheel and best interests of the child at its heart. Where on earth does everything you've mentioned benefit a child without a father? Mum without their child? Knock on effects are absolutely lifelong.
@Annemarieward Men facing domestic abuse, current or historic, is classed as a minority group. Lack of research in that alone is stark. Leads to lack of confidence, loss of children, lack of confidence - no hope. The stats are there, quietly. Planned research non existent.
@Annemarieward Absolutely the right question everyone should be asking. Why are no figures combined. Whats happenned to these men. Why are certain demographics at a certain age more likely to do turn to drugs alcohol and suicide?
Ooh-oo-hoo ah-ha ha yeah (voodoo ray voodoo ray) (Voodoo ray voodoo ray voodoo ray)

A Guy Called Gerald owning the night while HIT MAN & HER try to keep up with the madness. Sweat, strobe lights, and that bassline hitting

@Annemarieward Safety has its place, but with many cuts, resources less towards a sustained recovery it's now atba critical time. Alcohol seems to be increasingly put on the back burner, with little to no research planned.
Areas with good pathways and thinking seem to have been decimated.
@bellacaledonia Absolutely appealing along with cuts scotland wide that help to services assist individuals, first recover then rebuild. National policy, research , now cuts - is a shambles.
Scotland has the worst drug and alcohol death rate in Europe, and we're closing Glasgow’s only Drug and Alcohol Crisis Centre. Maryam Tariq reports: https://t.co/bCqtMXr358
@Annemarieward Plus signposting is hard enough. Must move away from default 12 step also - what works for some doesnt for others. Tailored, to the individual with foundations right is the start.
@Annemarieward Absolutely spot on. More cuts announced hit recovery hardest. Aftercare, meetings of people organised by third sector - doesnt have to be 12 step, can be what the rebuilding individual needs. Success measured on referrals - not outcomes and how success was achieved.
@Annemarieward@TheScotsman Also NHS Lothian. Does have a decent rehab type option. But. Its like hens teeth to get into, and unaccessible for most. Goes back into pathways out and options.
@Annemarieward@TheScotsman Without any pathway around it, treatment options that are viable could follow locally route of dealers targeting recovery cafes. No structured options out. Deaths named something else, deaths by despair etc. Whats point if no option no beds in recovery, no structure out?
It’s my birthday today. Ffs 66 times around the sun and still DJing and spreading the hardcore. Started the journey in 1978 at Barbarellas at the iron bridge playing Jazz Funk & Soul in southall and started the rave journey at Camden Palace in 1987 that’s quite a few years and a lot of music. I honestly can’t believe I’m back promoting Orange again after 35 years but this resurgence proves that Hardcore will never die. I’m a raver and a DJ and always will be🧡🎧
@ProfJWR And A and E attendances up 19 percent in last quarter? Deaths slightly down and alcohol services being cut? Let's face it its still shameful and shouldn't cross into political debate.
A levy on alcohol retailers could raise an estimated additional £60 million each year to reinvest in frontline alcohol services

@thsottiaux Something from absolutely scratch with limited computer skills but some knowledge of AI. A way to help other men deal with fallout of male domestic abuse. That's the idea, as no support in the part of the world I live and one thing vastly overlooked - devastates lives
@AllisonPearson Disagree wholeheartedly with his politics, but always comes across as a decent man. Remember reading the Tony Benn diaries, and though they disagreed politically respected each personally for their beliefs, mutual respect . A lesson for all.
