We certainly many people did not want to sign a petition that is sent to the elections regulators as the last time the people of Canada opposed their government they were trampled by horses and had their bank accounts frozen.

But how is holding a referendum harmful? It will allow the people to decide in a closed ballot. The petition followed the rules and achieved the required support level in a democratic process.

Now conversely, Carney subverted Canadian democracy and made back room deals to to undermine the will of the Canadian electorate and achieve a majority.
