As someone who leads a media house, I say this with deep concern:
Blind solidarity in the name of journalism, especially when the facts are missing is dangerous.
Recently, a former editor crossed a line. He published baseless allegations for clicks, not truth. That’s not journalism. That’s misinformation. And when the legal system responds, we can’t hide behind press freedom.
The media must earn trust, not demand it.
The industry, including Kantipur must fact-check harder, report deeper, be accountable, and earn back the trust we’ve lost because our audience is smarter, and their trust is fragile.
If we don’t evolve, if we keep shielding misconduct under the guise of solidarity, the day will come when no one will be listening.

Be like the river
Be like the river, flowing free,
Clear and pure, for all to see.
Not like the lake, stagnant and still,
With algae, dirt, and murky chill.
Let life's currents guide your way,
Fresh and clean, come what may.
