Carrying out some research on a 1/6th Gloucester private, his medal index card shows the word "disent" ? In the remarks column. Would this have been an illness suffered or a type of punishment? Any advice is a massive help, Appreciated.

Spending a few days in weymouth & came across this etched into the esplanade wall near the harbour. Using their bayonets, the American GIs scratched names into the brickwork prior to boarding for Normandy.
