Over the past couple weeks some have started asking me where they can follow outside Twitter.
I have an account that I haven't yet started using here:
https://t.co/MGIUXWBJku
Twitch (https://t.co/KeIXsoQvRn) for streaming RLs
YouTube (https://t.co/S4Hq6gqVMk) for archiving streams
Reddit (r/roguelikes, r/roguelikeDev, r/Cogmind)
and I'm most active on the Roguelikes/Dev/Cogmind Discord server: https://t.co/4qD1SuPvvl

Also of course there are the many other places, too, like on Patreon (https://t.co/2qWRxEoCte) where I write mostly about dev progress and give access to prerelease builds of my work, and
Hundreds of Twitter employees have resigned ahead of the ‘extremely hardcore’ cultural reset of the company
Elon Musk was scrambling to try and get top engineers to stay
Remaining employees expect the platform to start breaking soon
(via @alexeheath)
So it's not just a bunch of people I know leaving this place, it's those who actually pay for it, too xD
Yet another case of a platform about to crash and burn due to sudden major changes? This sure is getting interesting...
@slashie_ Some others that come up:
-players aren't always online/have access to internet
-browsers aren't always reliable/good ways to save game data
-browsers add unnecessary overhead and tend to be slower w/more issues than a dedicated build
-damn I had 2 more but just forgot them xD
@slashie_ Yeah for Cogmind I just have the news button on the UI flash, and if you click it and check the news page, it mentions that you're playing an older version, with some info about what's in the newest one.
