Grief is not just when someone dies, grief is when someone leaves, a business fails, changing schools, losing a friendship, and so much more. It's not only adults who have to deal with grief and bereavement. Kids, high school students, young adults, everyone feels grief in life.
Grief is a feeling that’s a completely natural reaction to a loss, that most of the times overwhelms people and makes them feel alone. It's vital to understand how we respond to grief and how to recover from it, it's not a fast process.
Prolonged Grief is when a person becomes emotionally paralyzed by grief for a long time, they feel the components of grief but instead of the positive thoughts and feelings emerging they often experience excessive anger feeling as they will never be the same, losing control. 3/3
Grief comes in more than one form Grief in general is a feeling that we as humans feel when they lose something that meant a lot to them, businesses, relationship, family members, etc. Bereavement is a feeling that is for when someone we care about dies, its also more intense 1/3
There are 5 stages of grief:
1. Denial, people refuse the idea that someone has died.
2. Anger, people feel angry that someone they cared about got taken away from them, they ask "Why Me?".
3. Bargaining, trying to give reasons for their passing, "I could have done this". (1/2)
4. Sadness, this stage typically turns into a form of depression for the person, they feel like their life means nothing without what they lost.
5. Acceptance, this stage does not bring a feeling of happiness, its a feeling of acceptance and having the ability to move on. (2/2)
Generally speaking handling grief is be done in many ways depending on the situation if a business failed its important to understand that you are not alone people fail every day and its part of being human Other types of grief might require more assistance or aid in recovery 2/2
If you are grieving about a lost relationship after many years it is also important to understand that you are not alone. People often times feel like they are the only ones suffering but realistically it happens all the time. And sometimes the relationship can be fixed. (1/2)
Being sleep deprived can be extremely stressing and tiring for a student in school. If someone you know or yourself are having difficulties getting through a loss its important to reach out for help so that nothing major happens to your mind or body. (2/2)

In a study done by Heather Gaines Hardison, Robert A. Neimeyer & Kenneth L. Lichstein, with 815 college students all suffering from extreme grief, 22% of them have some form of insomnia whether its major or minor.

When someone is grieving they could easily be overwhelmed with their thoughts. To prevent this, it is important to understand your emotions and think about them as thoughts. You cant allow yourself to fall under sadness, surround yourself with happiness and good people. (2/1)
For younger people, it can be one of the most difficult things to deal with for that person(s) age. If you are a student suffering from grief it is recommended that you talk to your guidance counselor for help. Anyone who needs help though can find a licensed Psychologist. (3/3)
Dealing with someone close to you dying is hard, Everyone handles grief differently though, therefore it is important not to feel awkward about how you feel. Not crying is fine, being sad is fine, emotions are different and sometimes that makes it harder. (1/3)
