@NBA_University Our last 4 years have been insane. Lost Luka Brunson KP, but traded for Kyrie and AD. Made WCF, missed playoffs, made finals, then missed playoffs. Now the jump from 11th —>1st for Flagg, first time we’ve ever moved up in the lottery.
Nico Harrison, man. I can't believe one person was able to undo 25 years of basketball culture in Dallas. Everyone from die-hard Mavs fans to players to execs are still stunned by the stupidity of this man's decision making. I really hope he loses his job soon. It's the only way this fanbase truly turns the page on this abysmal chapter.
Bob Voulgaris, former director of quantitative research for the Mavericks, destroys Patrick Dumont and his comments about Luka Dončić.

It’s actually so sad to see the Mavericks organization crumble. Ejecting passionate fans last night. Jason Kidd refusing to speak postgame. No medical update on Anthony Davis, the injured player you just acquired for your 25-year-old face of the franchise. Just disgraceful.
Dirk Nowitzki making it known he was in LA to watch Luka Doncic’s Lakers debut feels a lot like a statement against this new Dallas regime that has ruined everything for that incredible fan base.
I am serious when I say the Mavericks will never recover from this Doncic trade.
It's not just trading away one guy. It's trading away the future of an entire franchise.
Beyond the talent given up for an aging asset, Doncic was set to earn a 100M extension supermax next summer.
Screwing a homegrown star out of that much money to save on the back end is clear indication to any NBA player that Harrison/Adelsons can't be trusted to do right by him with regards to financial outlook.
Dallas almost certainly never have a player better than Doncic, but now, they will not be able to acquire players of even All-Star quality.
They cannot be trusted as a FO, and players, but more importantly, agents, now know that. Any player worth his value will never do business with them.
The damage this single trade has done is almost unfathomable, and could legitimately result in this franchise's relocation.
The Mavericks will suffer serious consequences in revenue, viewership, merchandise, and ticket sales. Nico Harrison/the Adelsons have completely annihilated this franchise, a franchise with some of the best fans in the NBA.
I never understood how someone could switch professional teams, but now I do. How you could put your faith in an org where the GM flippantly said he wouldn't be around long enough to feel the effects of this is impossible to understand.
#MFFL no more.
dereck lively is young, very good, and will be paid handsomely on his next contract. so in other words all of nico's least favorite qualities. sorry mavs fans
You can tell Luka still can’t believe the Mavericks traded him.
There is nothing more he could’ve done. He gave his heart and soul to the team.
Him saying, “I knew this was coming” means he was very aware of Nico Harrison’s stance on him
Let’s be clear. Most people in the Mavs organization were not over him. In fact, most are furious. One small man and his weird inner circle were over him. And they’ll always be remembered as the biggest morons in sports.
Dallas basketball really died man. There’s no recovering. It goes so far beyond one player. It’s a city accustomed & takes pride in its one guy. When we were kids we had Dirk, kids today had Luka. It united the generation gap in fans & gave us a storyline every season we all united around. Literally the soul of the team, ripped out & spat on in front of thousands, if not millions of fans. It’s like mourning your best friend. All for one man’s power trip. Nico - you will be haunted for the rest of your life by this. We wish you NO peace.
“A person close to the situation described this trade as the ultimate Harrison power trip, calling him a power-hungry man. Another observer said Harrison removed anyone who held a different view.“
This is absolutely wild.
