In fact, one of the most glaring features of American capitalism is racial inequality. The racial wealth gap exists because specific policies were put in place to suppress economic participation.

A friend of mine was murdered in his Tallahassee garage by thugs hired by his in-laws. The scheme unraveled solely because Florida state toll road license plate cameras caught the gunmen driving a rental car from Miami. Not Flock, but.

The most common objection to flock cameras I’ve seen is that we already know who the criminals are, and the problem is lenient DAs and judges, and that therefore they won’t help with crime.

That’s a reasonable argument, but it is only an argument. Reality is the ultimate judge.

San Francisco is possibly the most pozzed city in the country in the sense relevant to the “libtard DAs will just let them go” argument. It also historically had a huge problem with car break-ins.

Car break-ins dropped by over half in 2024, the same year SF deployed flock cameras. Not all of this is attributable to just the cameras, but police have heavily emphasized how useful they are. Not only do they result in more arrests and more convictions, but they also allow many suspects to be apprehended less dangerously rather than in high-speed chases. Even some former car-burglars have been interviewed and said the cameras made the “industry” not worth it anymore.

So yeah, I am generally sympathetic to the argument that the main problem is political, not technical, but evidence trumps argument and flock cameras have reduced a really obnoxious kind of crime in one of the most liberal cities in the US.

And no, no one is paying me to say this. I wish. Flock hmu.
