@KurtBenkert Well a RB would run like a normal human being expecting contact and brace themselves/go low to the ground. Hurts had already mentally considered the play over when he was inbounds and thats why he was so off balance getting hit. Mental mistake and he paid for it

@That_Hurts @wofski I agree that he was letting up and also agree that its 100% his own fault for getting lit up like that. Play to the whistle. Running upright toward the first down is a dumb choice and he found out why.

@PracticalDad82 @espn Anyone complaining about the hit would be the first to lose their minds over the defender not trying to defend the 1st down and allowing the QB to reach the ball forward at the last second. Exactly what you want to see from your defense.

@espn The reason he got rocked is that he clearly wasn't expecting any contact. They created an overly protective culture for QBs so much that the QBs put themselves in vulnerable positions not expecting contact and then get lit up by running upright going for a first down.
