Higher concentrations of Isu DNA allowed the ability to come easier or more naturally. It's actually explained in black flag most humans have the "Sense" but didn't know how to use it.

@lite_thespark If the current sequels didn't exist I'd love to see legends stuff come in like Mara. Buuuut the storyline of the Thrawn novels can't be unless they were to do a "non canon" off shoot. Even if the sequels didn't exist, the existence of the rebels series is blockage there
