I'd like to propose a term. Smell-coding. It's more rigorous than vibe coding. It's what really good developers who have fully embraced ai-coding do.
You treat the code as a black box and let the agent do whatever it wants, but you have so much coding experience already you can easily smell when the AI did something wrong.
It's rigorous because you already have so much built up intuition.
Iโm actually not against Electron apps (itโs a great framework) but we do need to close the gap so that React Native Desktop can be just as attractive.
RND is more resource-efficient (though hoping Windows gets more optimised with time). Just need to catch up on other fronts.
thanks to @birch_js, @jmeistrich, and @GroundControl i'm (finally ๐ ) sold on RN for desktop having huge potential
hyped to get some changes merged soon to get another step closer to making this first-class supported in expo โค๏ธ
