Fascinating book by David Gallagher #Methodism#peacemaking . Especially interested in the role of Rev John Stewart, Woodvale Methodist & NILP in 1970’s discussions with UVF. Ahead of his time …
Have a look. What a result @boysmodelschool@81% best Secondary school A level results in N.Ireland AND coming in ahead of some of Belfast’s most prestigious Grammar schools. Well done staff, boys & parents 👏👏

It’s official! We have achieved #CivicUniversity status.
This new status recognises our collaborations with community partners and our commitment to keeping #Belfast and #NorthernIreland at the heart of everything we do.
The Civic University Network is a group of #HigherEducation bodies across the UK that are driving social, economic and environmental change in the places they call home.
To celebrate officially joining the network and publishing our formal #Civic Agreement, we hosted a showcase event which highlighted specific projects that are having a positive impact in local communities.
“Since 1845 Queen’s has embraced its civic responsibilities, co designing projects that tackle the most complex societal challenges. Without strong relationships with our partners, this milestone of achieving formal Civic University status simply wouldn’t have been possible.
“This new status recognises the ways our University works hand in hand with communities and partners to drive positive change across Belfast and beyond.” (Professor Sir Ian Greer, @QUBVChancellor)

We've been unlocking the past in Woodvale Park in our latest community #archaeology dig.
This time the team have been joined by pupils from eight #Belfast schools who have helped to unearth the remains of a 19th century house!
Very little is known about Woodvale House, which was the residence of Reverend Octavius Glover, but records show that the land was taken over by Belfast Corporation in 1888 to create what is now Woodvale Park.

Over 140 participants from the Journeys programme came together across two days for our annual Journeys Camp. Participants continue to strengthen connections, and build a shared sense of community year after year.

As @PlasticFreeJuly comes to a close we want to encourage everyone to set yourself the "Take One" challenge. Next time you're out in the Belfast Hills why not “Take One” piece of litter to the nearest bin? Imagine the difference we would make through one small collective action!
. @springboardopp proudly launched the Journeys Programme earlier this year, with a PEACEPLUS investment of €8.3m.
The transformative programme supports young people from diverse communities across Greater Belfast, Greater Limavady, Derry/Londonderry, and Monaghan/Cavan. It will enable participants to realise their potential and become active contributors to building a shared, cohesive and better-connected society.
Steph O’Rourke, Executive Director Springboard Opportunities, said: "The Journeys programme represents a significant opportunity to bring young people together to realise their potential and become changemakers in building a shared, united, and more connected society. We are proud to lead this initiative which places young people at its heart and will make a lasting positive difference to them and our society.”
