A date I'll now never forget.

I became a widow today.

An entire lifetime of experiences essentially disapoeared today.

I felt emotions I haven't felt in a long time today.

Those were the easy moments.

My son called me crying today and gave me the news.

I had to devastate my other 2 sons with that information today.

Those were the worst parts.

Now I'm left asking the same questions I asked in the past that I thought I didnt need answers for. Rethinking every discussion I ever had with all our children. Questioning my value as a dad. Being a father is easy. Made a kid? Congrats. Your a father. Now become a dad.

I hope I've truly earned the title of dad because today, that's exactly what my kids need.

To my wife all I can really say is RIP. Safe travels, and I hope I can see 'you' again on the other side.

You mean aperture? Bigger the aperture? A larger aperture opening, or lower F-stop value, decreases depth of field.

You need 3 things to come together properly to get a usable image. Aperture (F-stop), shutter speed, and ISO. And with modern digital cameras, that shutter speed is variable and determined by the camera. You can set it to 30fps or 30000fps, and the camera will only record that number of frames and expose each one as it sees fit. 1 frame may be shot at 1/100th of a second, one may be 1/10,000th. All the camera will do is record the number of images per second as per your setting, but at the shutter speed it determines to be the best for each frame.

I've shot bullets thousands of times in my career, and never with a shutter speed faster than 1 full second. The flash/light is what introduces the bullet to the sensor, and nothing else. No light, no image. In this case, if it is a bullet, what the phone captured would be a brief reflection from the bullet from to the sunlight.

Without knowing more about the settings used to record the video, all we can do is assume. Did it catch a bullet, or a fast flying insect? With a cell phone sensor being as tiny as it is, you'd have almost zero chance of deducing what the image is showing. They don't have the resolution to capture detail like that. You'd have to be one in a trillion chance lucky to get a clearly definable image from automatic settings with a cell phone camera.

If Iwas called to testify based on my 5 decades experience as a professional photographer, I wouldn't be able to conclusively say or agree that what you're seeing is the bullet. Not from a cell phone camera. All I'd realistically be able to accurately deduce is the objects speed. That alone would determine bullet or bug.

So find the person who shot that video and see if they'll share the EXIF data. Then you can start figuring out what is captured in the video. 👍

No. Gravity is usually an opposing force to the trajectory of a fired round. The only time it isn't is if you're firing straight down and even then the bullet is traveling too fast for gravity to do anything. Only 1 attachment will make a subsonic round go any faster, and that's a longer barrel.

It'd be easy enough to prove if he did. In the clip you posted you can't see a barrel protruding from his hand. I also didn't see even a hint of recoil, no muzzle flash. Whatever you see going under his arm is obviously not from a barrel located between his fingers above his arm.

I'm a huge fan, but I think ya got this wrong, brother. I'm a retired professional photographer with 2 years forensic experience on top of being a certified Photoshop professional as well as other certifications. I've also fired 2 different palm pistols in my life, and I don't see his hand moving nearly enough to have squeezed the trigger. And if what you're calling bullet swirl is actually from the round being fired, he would have hit far lower than the neck.

But the most simple thing I can say is if he had fired a round without the barrel being visible past his fingers, he definitely would have suffered muzzle blast injuries that would have been almost immediately visible.

Just my 2 cents. YMMV
