Because you replied to my explanation of why physical media is declining by accusing me of supporting high-priced digital rentals.
We’re discussing what caused the market to change. You’re discussing whether that change is good. Those are two different conversations.
We can understand why something happened without approving of it. It really isn’t complicated.🐾
Question of the Day is are you going to 'STOP' Gaming altogther because they are all going that way.
People making videos stating they will not play their PlayStation for a year for mere follows and likes comical..
I mean do you actually own that device or play it?
Its the most rediculous, stupidest protest ever... people stop buying physical content and then complain when they stop producing it. 🤣🐾
The 98% figure and estimate on the wider industry’s digital revenue, including PC, mobile, DLC, subscriptions and microtransactions. It does not mean 98% of individual gamers exclusively buy digital games but more about 98% have more Digital Content than Physical.
Sony’s actual figures are still decisive: 78% of full-game purchases were digital across the financial year, reaching 85% in the final quarter.
So, fair correction on the 98%. But the central point remains: most PlayStation games are now bought digitally, and consumer spending has driven that shift.🐾
85% of Sales is 'Substantial'
New releases may cost around £80, but I’ve never paid more than £30 for a digital game. I wait for sales because I’m not desperate to become a day-one beta tester for an unfinished game full of bugs.
I’m not claiming digital is superior or celebrating the loss of discs. I’m explaining why consumers gradually moved towards digital: convenience, discounts and subscriptions. Publishers then followed the money.
Describing how the market changed is not the same as endorsing it.🐾
Why? Because having a disc-capable console doesn’t mean people regularly buy discs.
Like many others, we chose the disc PS5 because we wanted the option of physical ownership. Then convenience, discounts, instant downloads and subscriptions gradually pushed most of our purchases towards digital.
That is the trap: consumers choose convenience repeatedly, physical sales decline, shops stock fewer discs and publishers eventually stop producing them.
The industry follows purchasing habits. Being able to use discs means little if most people aren’t actually buying them.🐾
That battle needed fought years ago. The licence model was challenged when digital music, films and software first became mainstream, and it still became the industry standard.
You can demand stronger, permanent and transferable digital rights, which is fair. But “owning a licence and never losing it” would require laws and platform terms to change across the entire digital-content industry, not just PlayStation.🐾
@Xilo_Zeelow@Neighbo24155841@DoesItPlay1 We couldn’t care less, mate. That isn’t what’s being discussed.
You’re proudly announcing that you won’t buy a console that hasn’t even been made or officially revealed yet, and may not arrive until 2028 at the earliest.
Brilliant. Sony will alert the factory immediately.🤣🐾
That is entirely subjective speculation. You know nothing about this family’s history, yet you have invented a pattern of behaviour, blamed the mother and used it to justify the child hitting her.
We can judge what the video actually shows: pushing his face into the cake was wrong, and striking his mother was wrong. Making unsupported accusations about everything before that proves nothing.🐾
Maybe... but thet proves nothing. We got the disc version because we wanted to own physical versions of games... We hae 3 PS5 games and 7 PS4 games which were gave a free PS5 upgrade (Digital) of our outher games 880 Digital and 230 of those PS5.
So can you see the bigger picture. I would say 95% or more of all gamers the same these days 🐾
It’s simply called hockey here. “Field hockey” is mainly used to distinguish it from ice hockey for those who struggle with context.
It’s played by both men and women, and if you think women’s hockey is soft, you have clearly never watched it.
Different countries use different terminology. That’s culture, not an invitation for the usual ignorant, sexist rubbish.
Yet another 'Jackass' brainded US clown who knows he is out of his depth so hurls abuse then blocks the person.... 🤣🐾
Not entirely true. Some children have terrible parents and grow into decent adults, while others have good parents and still behave badly.
There may be reasons behind the tantrum, but reasons are not excuses. Pushing your son’s face into a cake was wrong, and punching his mother was also wrong.
The real problem here is the number of adults condoning aggression as an “acceptable reaction.” Anyone encouraging that behaviour is helping to normalise it.🐾
Having a physical collection now doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to continue building it with future releases. I own hundreds of VHS tapes, DVDs, Blu-rays, UMD movies and games spanning Atari 2600 to the current generation. None of that prevented older formats from disappearing when the market moved on. PC storefront competition is a fair point, but consoles are closed ecosystems. Xbox and Nintendo operate their own digital stores too. I have 7000 movies on Plex and no longer use my physical films. Your shelf proves you collected the past. It doesn’t prove publishers will manufacture the future.🐾

Yes, I’m this old. This was basically my computing class at school: BBC Micros, BASIC programming and COBOL.
No touchscreen, no internet and no AI. Just twenty minutes typing code followed by forty minutes discovering one missing character had destroyed the entire programme. 😂🐾
@TheOnlyKemi More bull fake staged posts... I mean we have someone videoing someone paking a photo then posting it online for reactions or rage baiting.
Red flags are people who post trash like this 🐾
