Glasgow Refugee & Asylum Seeker Solidarity is a UofG society which raises awareness & funds for asylum seekers, refugees & displaced peoples🌱 (insta~gugrass)
On Monday 16th September 2019, Mears Group will be taking over from Serco as asylum housing provider in Glasgow. After a year of lock-change evictions, hearings, interdicts and huge distress and anxiety, we welcome the opportunity for a new approach to asylum accommodation.
Today, we are asking @mearsgroup to commit to doing things differently in Glasgow. No matter the outcome of current legal proceedings, will you commit to no summary evictions of destitute people? In today's @ScotNational.

We are looking for sponsorship/funding to help us print our Zine ‘To Yemen With Love’ which was put together by @UofGlasgow students and will be sold at a fundraiser, with all money going to @YemenAid_US. If anyone has any suggestions of who to contact please message us!
We are looking for approx £550! Please circulate. It’s important for us to support Yemen during the crisis, and students have come together to research the art, history and culture of Yemen as a way to celebrate the beautiful country so it would be a shame not to print it!
Catch us next week at Stereo with @gumagazine to celebrate their 130th Birthday! Bringing you the best of UK funky, Garage & House, it’s deffo’s not one to miss!

Once again for the people at the back.
Migration is a class issue. The rich can live where they like anyway.
Free movement is not just about who migrates but people's rights when already here.
It's easier to exploit migrant workers if their visa depends on their employer.

need everyone to remember that seeking asylum is a fundamental human right.
Make Glasgow University Gym accessible to all students, including those seeking asylum who are unable to pay the upfront membership fee of £125 - Sign the Petition https://t.co/qS3wdF1H5M via @UKChange
A truly heartbreaking story. Nasar Ullah Khan refused heart transplant, given invoice for end-of-life care, now having to crowdfund just to have his family with him for his last days.
Be sad, get angry, and take action.
Crowdfunder details in thread, and support @DocsNotCops
It is now apparently indecent to object to paying £65 for the privilege not to be deported from one’s own home. This is the cancer of nationalism and this is its normalisation
And we’re back! Make sure to follow us on our social media to keep updated on our events in 2019. It’s going to be an exciting year..🌱🌿 @ University of Glasgow https://t.co/YNjTIaGJmM
