Let's remember some brutal truths on this T&R day.

Here is what the First Nation people did to captives & to each other.

Women and CHILDREN were frequently taken as captives; some were adopted, others ENSLAVED or KILLED.⁠

Running the gauntlet, fingernail extraction, burning with firebrands or hot irons, amputation of fingers/toes, and genital mutilation were recorded among several groups.

Captives who showed courage were sometimes eaten in small ritual portions by Iroquoian peoples.

Some groups subjected captured enemies to prolonged fire torture, staking, and mutilation before death.

Slavery existed in several regions, notably the Northwest Coast (where slaves were taken in raids and used in ceremonies) and among Plains groups who traded captives.

The "educators" want you to think there was nothing but land-loving, hand-holding and kumbaya-singing before settlers came. Not true. These people were brutal and vicious.

It's a good thing these practices ended, actually.

Civilization, law and order, rights and freedoms are by far a superior way to live. Western culture is better than barbarian culture. TRUTH!
