Hibiki Tokai's life sucks. He's a boring third-class citizen parts mechanic. To compound matters, he boasted to his co-workers that he would steal a Vanguard, one of the Tarak Empire's elite combat vehicles, and show it off to them. How the hell was he going to do that? Sneaking aboard the Ikazuchi, the battleship, that's not a problem. Getting past security, no problem. Finding the Vanguards, easy as pie. Of course, it's not so easy when the Ikazuchi blasts off for orbit 2 hours ahead of time (leaving Hibiki stranded on board), and it's even less easy when pirates from the feared Mejale Empire decide to mount a sneak attack. Hibiki's in trouble. He's facing execution for stowing away, and worse, he's about to meet a woman-- a creature feared for its skill in combat and rumored to eat men's innards-- for the very first time. How will he survive?
