For those following wondering Where I’ve been. I started feeling this account. Was getting to negative and I was critiquing a lot. I still use this account occasionally but if you wanna follow me and see me more active follow my account @Navymangafan
If wanting anime set outside Japan is “an illusion of diversity” then what was Yokoyama’s Sangokushi? What was Matsumoto’s Gun Frontier? Japanese art has always reimagined the world beyond itself. Limiting that isn’t respect it’s reduction.
the "i want more anime set outside japan" mindset needs to be studied. cause all that tells me is that these people want the illusion of cultural diversity without actually indulging in art that is made in other countries
Funniest thing about taking a break from this account and then coming back is seeing some accounts I knew of having preemptively blocked me because I’m very passionate about the localization issue. Guess citing translation and language theory struck a nerve.
@YooheesSKK Weeb crew always rage bait and selectively frame their criquiqes . It’s so disingenuous. They act “above it all” while shaping discourse in ways that distort how anime/manga can actually be engaged with. Everyone in that circle does to some degree it’s maddening.
I’m not saying channels like Espirit or Chibi don’t lean into politics they do. But so do the people who claim they don’t. Everyone ends up playing the same game, and that’s why western anime discourse is pure poison now.
This is a perfect example of how anime discourse gets derailed. Instead of debating translation, localization, or fandom culture on their own terms, everything gets reframed as a partisan issue. The actual cultural questions get lost in tribal arguments, and nuance disappears.
never ceases to amaze me how right wingers will keep peddling this idea of "people dont want politics ham fisted into videos" while being as on-the-nose as you can possibly be about which side they lean towards. like, you sure there isnt an agenda being pushed here at all?
So yeah I guess you can say he blocked everyone who pointed out his hypocrisy and is now gaslighting himself into thinking he is still in the right to his hugbox audience. Funny how that works
I was blocked after bringing up translation and language theory in the localization debate. Not because I was rude, but because my argument didn’t fit the script. That says it all. If you want nuanced discussion as you so claim don’t block people who think differently.
coward couldnt handle being ratiod by someone with pronouns so he blocked everyone who pointed out his hypocrisy and is now gaslighting himself into thinking he is still in the right to his hugbox audience. what a sad, pitiful existence lol. stick to reposting r/animemes
