An open directory of people who want to talk about architecture. Join us! On Insta. An idea by Charlie Porter @charlieporter_ & Andy Summers @mrandysummers
He co-edited Chez Etym., a book recently published as part of Occupy: The 2022 Australasian Students of Architecture Congress, and is an organisational committee member for ArchitectureLGBT+ Scotland.
Our next fellow Guest Critic is Samuel π
Bio:
Samuel is an architectural designer-writer-thinker. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and the University of Queensland (Australia), he won the Mackintosh School of Architecture dissertation prize for his postgraduate thesis.
He is co-founder of Chez Etym., a body of work exploring speculative theories of place, and is a Senior Designer at New Practice, where works across community consultation and βmeanwhile useβ projects.
As I believe continuous learning is essential, this year I am involved in postgraduate studies on sustainability myself, with focus on participation practices, community engagement and natural material construction techniques.
Next a warm welcome to Eva βοΈ
Bio:
Hello, I am Eva, a qualified architect based in Glasgow, and since my academic years I have always been interested in the social aspects and impact of architecture, through the lens of research for design.
π§΅
I am eager to see social design and mindset becoming an integral part of architectural education and this is the reason I joined the Guest Critics group.
First up, meet Kirsty a fellow guest critic π
Bio:
My work centres around equity in design and in particular I am passionate about the importance of inclusive and supportive places within historical urban environments.
I hope to offer a perspective on architecture that is fully grounded in the environment in which it sits through effective consideration of the local community and end users, pushing a consideration of the wider impact of architecture on society.
The platform is intended for emerging voices, fresh perspectives, and/or for people who are underrepresented within guest reviews and crits.Β
If π this is you
