"The only time I'd see him was when I was having a run at 5.30am and he'd be walking his dogs on the way in from a nightclub"
Richard Guest fondly remembered his Grand National-winning ally Norman Mason, who has died at the age of 85
@BHAPressOffice A reminder that these annual renewal costs are out of date, not it touch with the real world and a disgrace. Owners costs are all ready too high, Put everyone that works for you in to bat on a new levy deal and cut the hidden taxes on owners like bellow
At a time when prize money levels are beyond crisis point, the timing of the new racing league is crass beyond belief. Restricting owners, trainers and jockeys from competing for £50k is a demonstration of an industry that has no equal when it comes to shooting itself in the foot
Very proud to see the Ironhorse Outlaw Torn joining the “200 club” today and taking his place in the select band with his old pal Captain Scooby, incredible to have had two horses who have had such love for there racing.
We need your help. COVID-19 has hit us really hard and we need your help to raise funds to continue racing at Les Landes into 2021 & beyond. https://t.co/Set6cFQR1c.
The method the BHA has selected for @ascot's 2yo races goes agains supposed ethos of horseracing: that all have a chance of getting a nice horse, whether seven-figures or £7k is spent, whether they own 100 horses or one, whether they have owned or trained 1000+ 2yo wnrs or none
C19= unprecedented = decisions as apposite as poss. Racing just one business facing huge adjustment. Industry resumption dates vary, ie from 3 weeks to Sept-kid you not! BHA, every stakeholder deserves to know what you REALLY think, NOT what you think we might like to read!
Racing at @WetherbyRaces today summed up in one image.
Lough Salt and @JerrymcGrath for @RGRingmanthorpe.
Jump racing at it's finest. Grit and determination from both horses and jockeys.
One for Grand National historians as Whatwouldyouknow, trained by Richard Guest, lands at the Celebrate The Life of Peter Chapman Handicap Stakes under Graham Lee. Guest rode the Grand National winner of 2001 on Red Marauder and Lee won the big raceon Amberleigh House in 2004.
Stolen from box park at @ThirskRaces between 12 and 2.30 this afternoon. Horse box very similar to pictured. Reg YJ66 SBY. Please look out for on your travels and share with your friends.
