Such a sad series of videos showcasing the misery endured by the people of Chennai. Many such junctions exist all over Chennai City - the City Administrators and Traffic Police have shown no intent, creativity or basic planning to solve these growing road problems.
One common knee jerk reaction by @ChennaiTraffic Police is to place metal barricades randomly, creating more misery for road users. In the last year or so, things have gotten much worse in the core areas of the city except the roads regularly used by Ministers.

With the Registrar General of India deciding to use an “open-ended question on caste” rather than a drop-down menu of castes for the ongoing census to enumerate, it is likely to throw a plethora of entries pertaining to what may be a single caste. This could lead to an unwieldy list, as it happened in 2011 Socio-Economic and Caste Census exercise.

Tippagondanahalli reservoir holds 2.2 tmcft of unused water amid Bengaluru’s needs
Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (#BWSSB) officials said the reservoir has 2.2 tmcft of water standing at 58 feet, which has been ignored and not utilised.
“Water from TG Halli reservoir is good and fit for consumption, yet it is ignored and wasted every day. The government wants to use TG Halli water when the Yetinaholle project reaches #Bengaluru. But that project is delayed. To use TG Halli water, a project report to supply it to Dobbaspet and Peenya industrial areas is being prepared,” the engineer said.
Prof TV Ramachandra from the Centre for Ecological Sciences, IISc, said Bengaluru does not need the #Mekedatu project as the city receives sufficient rain. The city also gets a good quantity of #Cauvery water and an equal amount of treated waste water is also generated. All this needs to be well utilised, he advised. https://t.co/4qwr2Hn51U

A similar manner of recording caste data was adopted during the 2011 Socio-Economic and Caste Census. The exercise turned out to be a failure as the caste data collected ended up producing nearly 46.7 lakh distinct caste names. The number was humongous compared to the 4,147 castes recorded in the last comprehensive caste census in 1931. Since respondents self-recorded caste names, the caste data collected could not fit into a standardised caste registry. As a result, the central government had to withhold the caste data.
