OMG THIS. This so much. I’ve talked about this so much, that feeling you get walking towards an arcade. The sounds getting louder and that feeling like you walked through a magical portal as soon as you enter and the game sounds envelope your senses. The butterflies and excitement walking in.
I know it gets tiresome at times to hear old people gush about arcades, but there was nothing like it. I miss them so much and so genuinely wish those who missed out could experience what they were like. One of the best “second homes” anyone could have if you found the right arcade.
I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.
The algorithm will no doubt eliminate this from your feeds soon.
Truth, common sense and reality from a respected, 15-year NBA vet who was there.
But it won't make the NBC pre-game on November 10th...
Dear TTT,
Hey old friend! How have you been? This is MarkMan from tekkennet or Tekken Zaibatsu! Remember Castel’s crazy combo videos with the sick music!?
I met you when I was in the Summer of my junior year of high school, right before I became a senior. Crazy right? You’ll never believe it. I FINALLY went to Japan! Actually, I spend way too much time there now haha.
I really have to thank you. If it wasn’t for you… I wouldn’t have traveled the world. I wouldn’t have met so many amazing friends. I wouldn’t have pursued a career in video games. It’s wild to think that we’ve known each other since 1999… you’ve been with me since I was 17. I’m 44 now and really happy we still get to see each other.
Some of our friend group are no longer with us. Some passed away and some just moved on with life. It’s sad but I’ll never forget the memories we all shared.
You’d be proud. The community has grown so much. I’m not as alone anymore and can talk about fighting games with more people than ever.
I gotta go for now. Please keep in touch.
I’ll always keep some quarters on me.
Take care.
Your Friend,
Mark
P.S. If you have a good memory of the arcade days. Please leave a message after the beep.
Entonces... Que esperaba Riot con 2XKO exactamente?
No estoy TAN metido en el tema, pero el apoyo que vi por parte de la comunidad de fighting games fue tremenda. Si esa no era la meta... Cual era?
I’ve always said SFA2 is my favorite Street Fighter title of all time. The roster, music, stages, fun system mechanics, and most importantly the people I’ve met are strong factors why it’s my number 1 choice.
Additionally, SFA2 was released in the golden era of fighting games in NA arcades. Met about every OG TO as a competitor before they started running majors which was the next pioneer of community building at the time.
Our common love for games brought us together but learning about their culture (food, music, art, nightlife, etc.) motivated us to visit their scenes every year.
No sponsorships, no dev support, just some kids with a few quarters in their pocket and a hunger to win 👊
What?
I'm genuinely shocked
That quick? The game just had an incredible Evo. Is running at Evo France. Has an active community. And is genuinely fun af.
I know it clearly didn't perform, but it seems super rushed to drop it so early? This is mad 😭
I knew this was coming, but honestly I'm just sad with how much potential this game had.
Best netcode free
Duos is peak fighting games
Amazing PvE mode potential
Free to play
Afraid it will be long time before we see something this ambitious again because Riot fucked up 😭
With the 2XKO news that the game I work on is ending, I had a chance to update my demo reel with some of my favorite rigs I worked on over the years! ggs yall
I'm applying to other internal teams so hopefully youll see me soon on a new project at Riot :)

Gonna take some time to figure out what to do for 2027 - will definitely go hard on Tokon, and will likely pick up another game or maybe play some Melee again + focus on content.
My heart goes out to everyone who worked on 2XKO, genuinely my favorite fighting game in a long time
I really hope the 2XKO team gets treated well after shut down. They worked so hard on the game and this has got to be such a big blow. It reminds me of Rumbleverse and just how much these devs can pour their hearts and souls into a game only for the upstairs to shut it down.
Here’s to them all landing on their feet! ❤️
