During the FGS Communications Directors Monthly Meeting, the Director of Communications and Public outreach at the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Abdiaziz Ahmed Mohamed, highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation among government communications offices in strengthening institutional coordination and presenting a unified government narrative.
He emphasized that closer collaboration is key to delivering consistent, credible, and impactful communication that reflects the work of government institutions.

At the opening session of the Peace Communication Workshop, the Director of Communications and Media, Abdiaziz Gurbiye, welcomed participants and underscored the importance of the initiative.
He highlighted the critical role of responsible communication in supporting reconciliation, peacebuilding, and stabilization efforts, and emphasized the need to strengthen verification skills, promote accurate narratives, and foster social cohesion across communities.
The Director General also held a meeting with the Department of Communications and Public Outreach to discuss plans for strengthening outreach and public engagement.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review communication approaches, refine information dissemination, and align outreach plans aimed at strengthening engagement with communities and stakeholders nationwide.
During the launch of the Strategic Communications Training, the Director of Communications and Public Engagement, Abdiaziz Ahmed Gurbiye, addressed the participants.
He highlighted the importance of professional, coordinated messaging across government institutions, noting that effective communication is essential to building public trust, countering misinformation, and supporting the Ministry’s broader mandate.
The meeting focused on Somalia’s ongoing stabilisation and recovery efforts in newly liberated areas, as well as the strategic communication initiatives designed to support these efforts effectively.
