So what? UNRWA employs 13,000 Gazans. The miracle would be if none was in Hamas. This “story”—even were it true—was obviously contrived to distract from the ICJ decision and punish UNWRA (2)
A statue of Captain Cook has been completely cut down by vandals overnight, on the eve of the January 26 public holiday.
Victoria Police assert that the statue, on the St Kilda Beach foreshore, was cut down at the ankles prior to 3:30am this morning. The phrase "the colony will fall" was also spray painted on the statue's base.
It is understood that several people were spotted loitering in the area at around the time of the incident.
City of Port Phillip officials have removed the statue this morning.
Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.

This is a dangerous escalation. It makes Australia an even bigger part of the global nuclear weapons threat to humanity’s very existence - and by rising military tensions it further destabilises our region
