As I sit here and reflect on this school year- I am in awe. In awe of the students who persevered through, in awe of the teachers who developed a new norm and in awe that everything really can change in a split second. So proud to be #Roxburystrong right now💜

Even though I kinda knew it was coming, it still doesn’t feel real that I won’t get to close the year out with my students. Even though ya’ all drove me crazy sometimes, I seriously looked forward to seeing and laughing with you everyday! Miss you guys!

Teaching is so much more than delivering content. It’s all about showing them you care. There is NO shame in formulating a lesson that is solely focused on getting these kids to smile- especially during times like this.

My algebra students made me BEYOND PROUD today. These kids all crushed it with their factoring videos. Instead of a traditional test, my students were asked to record themselves teaching a factoring lesson & let me tell you- I couldn’t be happier!

Urging my fellow instructors out there to work smarter not harder during these flexible instruction days. Currently working on a series of problem based learning projects that requires kids to think critically, be creative and apply math in their real lives!

Flexible learning day 1- bribing my students to send me math accomplishments by offering to post a picture of my new puppy! Participation seems to be at an all time high. Will they reach it?

... but this lesson proved to be the most meaningful lesson my students have taken part in so far. They used their knowledge of perfect squares to uncover the Pythagorean theorem on their own, and honestly I can’t stop smiling
