We camped last night and we had heavy rain. So far so good. It has a rain yfly that extends to the front of the truck. There are flaps that extend over the sides of the truck. Both of those prevent water from getting into the bed area. We’ve had heavy winds on another trip and the canopy that extends out flapped quite a bit but survived. I wanted to get the roof top tent but like you said, expensive. This is cool in that it fits in a relatively small bag, I don’t need to fold it up and put away when we want to leave, we just slide it out of the truck, it keeps our camp site occupied haha, no range loss of course. Down side is that it sets up like a tent but there are many many good sides. We are putting it through its paces as this is probably the 5th camp out we’ve done in it.

It’s the Joy Tutus tent. I want to say it was only $300 when we bought it, and we got the air mattress that fits the bed perfectly for $100. Cheapest option we could find and we are really enjoying it. It takes 5 minutes to yank ought of the bed when we leave and we throw it back in when we get back, 10-15 minutes.

We tried campion at the KOA near Glenwood Springs and they wouldn’t allow us to charge our Cybertruck. Not our first choice for camping but we needed something close to the freeway for one night. Paid for the 50 amp site and no go. It worked for a little bit and then wouldn’t charge. I tried lowering amperage, resetting breaker multiple times, etc. I tried even thought they had a sign on the pedestal, no EV charging. Won’t be using KOA again haha.
