at least when i watch tennis, if my favorite player loses it’s cause they weren’t good enough. when i watch f1, i have to see carlos sainz in fifteenth place hold up my fav driver (who was the race leader), make needless contact with him, and cause him to lose out

overtook for the lead. held on perfectly for half the race. got pitted into traffic. lapped car hit him. team pitted his teammate ahead of him. car broke down. dnf.

all of this after his two previous races were also ruined by others crashing into him. it's exhausting.
