A UK family where both parents work full-time, pay full council tax, and earn enough to be 'doing alright' on paper, can't afford to take their kids to the Tower of London on a Saturday in 2026.
Two adult tickets and two child tickets at standard price comes to roughly £100. Add £40-£80 in train fares and £50-£70 for lunch — that's around £200 for a single Saturday at one tourist attraction in their own capital city.
A family on full Universal Credit, living in subsidised housing, paying no council tax, can take the same four people to the same Tower for £1 a ticket — £4 total — under the 'inclusive access' schemes most major UK attractions now run.
The working family pays the full £200 day out AND covers — through their taxes — the £196 discount the benefits family gets on the same trip.
Whatever the original intention of those schemes, this is the structure most UK working families are now living inside. Pay the full bill, then watch the people next door enjoy the day out you can't take your own kids to.
I’ve just watched a whole BBC documentary about the rapid increase in cancer among the young..
It explored food & lifestyle choices, even body sprays & plastics.
Not once tho, did they explore whether getting young healthy people vaccinated over & over with a product that had no long term health data, may have played a role🤔
Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaj ji) never spoke anything much on the philosophy side, but he always used to say one thing whenever hippies from the West used to ask him about the door to meet God. He said it starts from the stomach of a hungry person. If you are feeding strangers who are praying to God to get food so they can sleep well, and you appear there with food, you are God for them. And the more you do such things and practice this, the closer you become to the God who sits inside you.
My partner retired today. Over 50 years with the same small business and guess what they did? Nothing...no cake, no gifts, nothing. 50 years of being the most reliable, fixing things he didn't have to, staying late to finish jobs so others could leave on time. I'm so pissed off.
If you earn £100 & pay £30 in income tax, you’re left with £70.
BUT if you then buy £70 of fuel, you pay £41.46 in fuel duty AND VAT (59%).
Which means the taxman just took £71.46 in tax of your hard-earned £100.
This is why the U.K. economy is failing.
I am often asked what my priority would be if I was the prime minister. 1. Build 5 large modern day prisons. 2. While the prisons are under construction I would recruit 10,000 police and place them through a detailed training program to make their jobs recognised professionals. 3. While the prisons are being built.Recruit prison officers and make and pay them into respected professionals. 4. I would find the money by cutting back on military expenditure. In fact I would offer soldiers to apply for police or prison officer jobs. 5. My understanding of asylum seekers is that if they are trying to leave an oppressed county where they are in danger, they are supposed to go to nearest safe county. The people arriving on the shores of the UK have passed through plenty of safe countries. I would ask the Royal Navy to stop them arriving. Comments please . No jokers thanks Lord Sugar
“Buying a house right now is FCKING MENTAL. what do you mean I can borrow $400K at 8%, pay almost $3K every month for 10 YEARS, hand the bank roughly $352K, and STILL owe around $351K. And that’s before we even talk about taxes, insurance, maintenance, or repairs. Wild. WILD.”
Airports really need gyms and showers. If I have a 3-hour layover, I’d rather get a workout in, stretch, shower, and walk onto the plane feeling fresh than sit around drinking overpriced airport coffee.
