I remain dedicated to investing in healthcare infrastructure, equipment, and personnel to ensure our residents continue to receive dignified, efficient, and accessible healthcare services.

Today at Machakos County Level 5 Hospital, a regional referral facility serving the Lower Eastern region, I launched the issuance of prosthetic limbs to 68 beneficiaries—58 from Machakos County and 10 from other counties. A further 200 people will benefit in the coming phase.

Through this initiative, Machakos County becomes the first county in the Lower Eastern region to offer these specialized services. We will also devolve them to all Level 4 health facilities across the county to improve access.

This programme will restore mobility, independence, dignity, and hope to beneficiaries, enabling them to participate fully in social and economic activities. I thank SwissAbility for their partnership in making this initiative possible.

Inspected the Machakos Sewerage Project, which is currently 86.5% complete. The project entails the laying of 65 kilometres of sewer lines and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 6,500 cubic metres.

Upon completion, this transformative investment will significantly enhance sanitation services for more than 150,000 residents of Machakos Township and its environs, including Muvuti/Kiima Kimwe, Kimutwa, Mumbuni North, Katheka Kai, Mua, and Mutituni. The project is expected to improve public health outcomes, protect the environment, and elevate urban living standards across the region.

I commend the Athi Water Works Development Agency for its partnership and unwavering support in the implementation of this critical infrastructure project, which will have a lasting impact on the lives of our people.

This afternoon I hosted a delegation of leaders from Narok County Assembly who paid me a courtesy call at the SKM Command Centre.

We held a consultative discussion on governance matters and other key issues affecting Narok County, with a focus on development priorities, service delivery, and the political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The delegation was led by Narok Deputy Speaker Isaak Dapash and included MCAs Francis Kuyioni, Christine Lemein and Gideon Sayianta, alongside WPF Nairobi Caucus Chairperson Diana Kapeen and WPF Executive Director Benson Milai.

This achievement reflects our dedication to open governance, prudent use of public resources, and meaningful public participation in development.
