Hackney leaseholders campaigning to get cladding/ building testing for suspected EPS in Burberry freehold block. Views are in our opinion
#EndOurCladdingScandal
Residents in an unsafe North London tower block say they feel like “prisoners in their own homes” after being told their flats are effectively worthless, and it could be up to 42 months before can they sell up and leave. https://t.co/13ZkXqu01k
“It is only a matter of time before someone jumps off one of the balconies.”
While @mhclg, housing associations, developers & @RobertJenrick all continue to point the finger of blame at each other, the lives & mental health of innocent residents are destroyed.

@BurberryCorp Hundreds of residents living in this building & thousands of customers vising your shop below is, yet no proof given to us that the building is fire safe. Just that it contains EPS which is flammable. When will testing take place? @hackneygazette@mayorofhackney
@BurberryCorp@PeabodyLDN Leaseholders are emailing your CEO's to ask for clarity regarding the ongoing cladding and EPS issues for our building. Can you start to provide some clear answers and actions based on our concerns? #endourcladdingscandal#ukcladdingissues
@housingday We live in a @BurberryCorp freehold building with suspected EPS cladding & mixed messages from our Landlord @PeabodyLDN in regards to it being safe. No EWS1 form & stuck in limbo of selling, as Burberry have no official docs confirming buildings material's to carry out testing
@Burberry@BurberryCorp As our Freeholder can you confirm the next steps you now talking to secure a BS8414 test to show that the cladding is 'compliant' Mixed messages which could mean both residents & outlet customers are at risk #claddingscandal@hackneygazette@Meg_HillierMP
@ukcag#helpneeded our freeholder doesn't have copies of our As Build drawings for confirmation of building materials. Developers no longer have them, so they are missing! Any advice on how to check what materials have been used & check on suspected EPS?
The EWS1 form is not fit for purpose
RICS say they are revising the form but haven't said in what way
Lenders are adopting unreasonably inflexible approaches to lending on flats
Some flats have been given a nil valuation by fearful surveyors

One aspect of #EWS1 rarely mentioned is Note 11 which states max life of the certificate is 5 years and that it may need to be reassessed if changes are carried out to the wall system (how would a lending bank know especially if the EWS report is not provided?) #BuildingSafety
