Yesterday in Ile-Ife, I had the honour of representing Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, at the disbursement of ₦50,000 grants to 1,000 petty traders across Osun State under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

At the palace of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, this simple yet impactful intervention reminded us of a fundamental truth: when we empower small businesses, we strengthen the very foundation of our local economy.

These traders are not just beneficiaries, they are drivers of resilience, enterprise, and community growth. The Petty Trader Empowerment programme is a deliberate effort to provide direct, meaningful support to those who keep our markets alive and our economy moving.

I was particularly pleased to share this moment alongside my mother, the former First Lady of Osun State, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, who graciously participated in the disbursement of the grants to the beneficiaries. In my company also was Princess Bukola Adereti, wife of the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, as we reaffirmed our collective commitment to inclusive development.

I firmly believe that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) shares this same commitment to empowering our people and is well-positioned to expand economic opportunities and deliver purposeful governance for our people.
