Teesside Hackspace is a non-profit group running a community-operated workshop in Middlesbrough where members can come together to share tools and knowledge.
Maker of the Week is the wonderful Andy Smithson, a member at Teeside Hackspace. Andy brought to life the Hydro Fire Hornet, invented by Lucas, age 9. He is an electronics engineer and enjoys a hands on approach to engineering. Take a look! 💥👇https://t.co/u9QkRibA8b
Huge thanks to @Farnell_Avnet for donating all of this filament for our 3D printed PPE project! <3
Check out our GoFundMe page - now that we have so much printer filament, we'll be using donations for materials to produce laser cut face shields too!

Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we have suspended public open evenings until further notice. The space remains open 24/7 to members. Thank you for your understanding.
One of our keen eyed members has just spotted that the Google digital bus is in the area. It may be handy for some of our followers, ideal if you want some free coaching (no pun intended) on digital/ social media for your business, it's coming back soon … https://t.co/KaMl4kqXls
Dont forget its our Spacewarming party tonight 5pm onwards. Hope to see many of you there. (see events tab for more information and more upcoming events) https://t.co/KaMl4kqXls
@makerspacehull@fowkc@DoESLiverpool@yorkhackspace@HSNOTTS Everyone has to confirm they’ve read the rules & gets a tour of the space before they get their keyfob. They can then train on specific tools (e.g. laser cutter) to get access to them. Currently on honour system, working on rolling out RFID tool access
@makerspacehull@fowkc@DoESLiverpool@yorkhackspace@HSNOTTS We built a system that lets members sign up online via Gocardless. Can visit the space on an open evening to pick up an RFID keyfob & add it to their account. Can then use that to get in to the space 24/7. No process to sign in if space already open (or sign out) but on roadmap
Our new Laser Cutter has arrived! We're waiting on a few replacement parts, but we should have it up and running soon, then we can start cutting bigger things than ever before! Huge thanks to @NotEnoughTECH for sorting out transport!
We're holding a Spacewarming Party this Sunday (5pm-10pm+) to celebrate our new space! if you haven't visited Teesside Hackspace yet, this is the perfect opportunity to come along, check out our new space, meet new people & enjoy some free beer and pizza! https://t.co/3YoQu3U7MG
Thanks to @yorkhackspace for your time yesterday, & the cool gift! Probably more powerful than some of the PCs in our space :D See you at @MakerFaireDERBY !
