The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“The best of you are those who are best to their wives.”
— Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 3895.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“And live with them in kindness.”
(Qur’an 4:19)

Another verse commands:

“They (wives) are clothing for you and you are clothing for them.”
(Qur’an 2:187)
This beautiful metaphor shows love, comfort, and protection.

Islam strictly forbids violence against women. The Prophet ﷺ never hit a woman or a servant in his entire life (Sahih Muslim).

Any man who abuses, isolates, or enslaves his wife is acting against Islam, not according to it. Such a man represents his own sick mentality, not the teachings of the Qur’an or Sunnah.

Furthermore, Islam gave women rights 1,400 years ago that Western women only recently gained:
•The right to own property and manage their wealth.
•The right to education.
•The right to accept or reject a marriage proposal.
•The right to inheritance.
