Where is the money?
@PhilippeGroueix noted that the full economic impact of Uganda's petroleum projects will be realised with First Oil, when Uganda joins the ranks of oil-producing and exporting nations.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining momentum across the Tilenga, Kingfisher and EACOP projects to unlock revenues, create opportunities, and maximise long-term benefits for Ugandans.
"Every day counts. Every hour counts. Be assured of our commitment to delivering Uganda's First Oil."

Where is the energy?
@PhilippeGroueix highlighted that TotalEnergies is already making a significant contribution to Uganda's energy sector and has become the country's largest private investor in renewable energy.
✅28% shareholder in the Bujagali Hydropower Plant
✅Developer of the country's first 10 MW solar PV plant in Soroti
✅A 15 MW solar plant in Tilenga ready for start-up
✅Final investment discussions underway for a 20 MW solar plant in Tororo
"Our energy contribution is already visible. It is already there," said @PhilippeGroueix.

Where are the industries?
@PhilippeGroueix, General Manager, #TotalEnergiesEPUganda, noted that #TotalEnergies’ response to this question lies in its ambitious national content agenda, designed to maximise opportunities for Ugandans and Ugandan businesses.
Today, more than 16,000 Ugandans are participating in the Tilenga construction phase, gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills that will support future projects across the country.
At the same time, 617 SMEs recently graduated from the Industry Enhancement Centre, expanding the pool of Ugandan enterprises ready to participate in the operations phase and contribute to long-term economic growth. As these businesses grow, so too will their contribution to Uganda's economy.

“Where is the money? Where are the industries? Where is the energy?”
Addressing stakeholders at the #REC26Expo, Hon. @DrMusenero challenged participants to consider these three fundamental questions, arguing that the true measure of success in the extractives sector lies in its ability to grow national revenues, drive industrialisation, and strengthen Uganda’s energy security.
She emphasised the need to understand how investment translates into jobs, enterprise development and local value creation, ensuring Uganda’s natural resources contribute to long-term economic transformation.

At the #TilengaProject, electricity imported from Uganda's hydropower-based national grid will be complemented by a 15 MWp solar plant, which is currently Ready for Start Up in Buliisa District. Together, these energy sources will help reduce emissions, optimise energy use, and lower the project's overall carbon footprint, demonstrating how performance and sustainability can go hand in hand.

In Uganda, #TotalEnergies has owned and operated the 10 MWp Soroti Solar PV Plant since 2016 and is developing 46 MWp of additional solar capacity in Tororo and Iganga districts.
We also hold a 28.3% stake in the Bujagali Hydropower Plant, one of Uganda's most significant renewable energy assets, contributing to the country's growing energy mix.

Equally inspiring was welcoming Hon. @DrMusenero to the #TilengaProject, where she toured key facilities & experienced firsthand the impact of our livelihood restoration programmes.
Honoured to witness H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni officially unveil the name of Uganda's crude oil, #PearlSweet, a historic milestone in our nation's energy journey.
Hon. @DrMusenero, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, noted that after engaging with all operators involved in Uganda’s oil development over the last three days, including @CNOOCUgandaLtd at Kingfisher, @TotalEnergiesUG at Tilenga, and @EACOP_, they had consistently remarked that, despite their global experience, they had rarely been involved in a project as elegant and expansive as the one being developed in Uganda’s oil region.
“Your Excellency, the engineering works are a wonder here in the region, as you have witnessed during the tour and through the presentations on the other aspects of the project,” said the Minister following the physical tour of the Kingfisher CPF and the presentation on the #TilengaProject CPF.
H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni led a high-level delegation comprising the Prime Minister, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, the Permanent Secretary of @MEMD_Uganda, and other sector leaders from @TotalEnergies, @EACOP_, @PAU_Uganda, and @UNOC_UG on a tour of the Kingfisher Central Processing Facility (CPF).
Jointly owned by @TotalEnergiesUG EP Uganda (56.67%), @CNOOCUgandaLtd (28.33%), and @UNOC_UG (15%), the Kingfisher Project is now 80% complete overall and approaching the commissioning and testing phase. According to @MEMD_Uganda Permanent Secretary @irenebateebe, the project is expected to reach 40,000 barrels of oil per day at peak production.
H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni has officially unveiled the name of Uganda’s crude oil, #PearlSweet, at the Kingfisher Development Project (KFDP), operated by @CNOOCUgandaLtd in Kikuube District.
The @TotalEnergiesUG EP Uganda team, led by General Manager @PhilippeGroueix, was honoured to join senior government officials, Joint Venture partners, and other stakeholders in commemorating this defining moment for Uganda’s oil and gas industry.
Beyond infrastructure and construction, the delegation witnessed first-hand how the #TilengaProject has supported Project Affected Persons.
At the home of one of the PAPs, Owormungu Phinas in Kyamandindi Village, Buliisa District, the team heard from various PAPS about how livelihood restoration programs are helping households build sustainable and resilient futures through agriculture, vocational training, business development, and financial literacy initiatives.
Deputy General Manager, @nampeeramariam, noted that the project has exceeded all major construction-phase national content targets, creating opportunities for Ugandan workers, businesses, and institutions. To date, nearly 16,000 Ugandans have been employed, more than 2.18 million training man-hours delivered, and over USD 795 million spent on Ugandan goods and services.
She emphasized that these achievements reflect TotalEnergies EP Uganda’s commitment to maximizing in-country value through employment, ensuring that the benefits of the project contribute directly to Uganda's long-term socio-economic development.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. @DrMusenero, commended the significant progress made across the #TilengaProject and highlighted its potential to drive long-term socio-economic transformation.
She noted that while key infrastructure, wells, and pipelines are largely in place, the project's impact must extend beyond construction to creating sustainable opportunities for communities and workers through skills development, enterprise growth, and value creation across the broader oil and gas value chain.
“My expectation is that it will be permanently transformative. We must ensure that the people, businesses, and communities that have grown alongside this project continue to benefit and move forward long after construction is completed.”
Today, Hon. @DrMusenero, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development led a delegation of senior government officials from the @MEMD_Uganda, @PAU_Uganda & @UNOC_UG on a high-level visit to the Tilenga Project to review progress on key development activities.
During the visit, @PhilippeGroueix, General Manager of TotalEnergies EP Uganda, highlighted the project's strong momentum, noting that thousands of workers are actively engaged across multiple sites. He emphasized ongoing efforts to accelerate construction works at the Central Processing Facility (CPF), which has now reached 72% overall completion.
The delegation also toured active drilling operations at the Gunya-02 well pad and met with Project Affected Persons (PAPs) in Kyamandindi Village to evaluate the impact of livelihood restoration initiatives.
The visit reaffirmed the project's commitment to safe and efficient operations, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of sustainable long-term value for Uganda.
