Grace Academy Relief Camp for displaced #Kuki families from Kangpokpi – sheltering 124 people, including 70 aged under 18 years.

◾Story 1

Ginminthang
Thirteen-year-old #Kuki Boy

His pi (grandmother) was shot four times in a church in Khoken, Kangpokpi, while she was praying. Her arms were then mutilated by a mob.

Ginminthang says. "She told me how to behave, gave me guidance on how to live life correctly. She was very wise."

◾Story 2

Lam Kho Hen
The 12-year-old #Kuki Boy lost his Father.
"We were hiding in the jungle when my father was ambushed by a mob on the main road."

"He spoke to me on the phone minutes before he was killed. He was coming to us, so I told him to take a shortcut and not come via the main road. He said there’s nothing to worry about."

"I wanted to become a scientist before he died. But I will now fulfil his wish and become an (IAS) officer"

"They took My Father from Me."

◾Story 3

Kim Vah, 18-year-old #Kuki Girl

"Before My Father died, I was a child with innocence, but now I feel weight on my shoulders,"

She is now wishes to become an IPS officer "to protect her people."

"When we heard gunshots at 4 am, I prayed for his life. His last words to us were ‘everything is fine’."

"My father was shot protecting our village. I don’t think we’ll ever have the money for me to go to school again,"

"I have been terrified ever since I saw the picture of his body. But I think he wants me to stay strong, take care of my mother,"

No one knows what the Future holds.

Still no one has come forward to take accountability for the Destruction of #Manipur.

The #Kukis living in the Hills of #Manipur are going through horrific times.

More than 50,000 #Kukis have been displaced and living in relief camps.

As against that 10,000 #Meiteis are presently staying in camps.

The difference is that the #Meiteis are receiving all kinds of support and aid materials from the Centre and State.

In contrast, the #Kukis do not get anything at all. Whatever little the administration spares for the tribals are looted from the trucks that get waylaid by the #MeiraPaibi goons. Police and administration knows about this but do not do anything at all to stop them.

The only relief material that the #Kukis receive is from Nagaland and Mizoram.

Thus the aid materials sent to Imphal is not going to reach #Kukis
Unless routed through the neighbouring states.

I was there in the protest meeting at Bangalore today. I'm happy that you shared a clip from that.nalmost 2,500 #Kukis residing in Bangalore attended this.

I spoke to many from this congregation. They tell me that if they try to travel through Imphal to meet their families, then they will certainly be butchered. They say that #MeiraPaibi will not let even a single #Kuki to pass the capital alive.

Apparently there are still many unidentified dead bodies in the morgues in Manipur. The deaths of whom are neither brought in records nor reported by News Channels.

Sir, you are doing an excellent job by spreading awareness among the Hindi Speaking Indian community. Kindly do this consistently. Our tribal brothers and sisters have no one else to seek support from.

Surveys by GSI (Geological Survey of India) in #Manipur has reported finding of Nickel, copper and Platinum Group Elements ( PGE )/Platinum Group Metals apart from Malachite, Azurite and Magnetite.

This lies under the earth strata of the hills which is the home to tribals for 1000s of years.

89% of the land in #Manipur are hills. The precious minerals are in that territory. This is the home of the tribals.

Well known private companies with close links to the ruling party are interested in getting mining rights. The hill inhabitants would have to helplessly watch the hill and mountain tops being sliced off and monstrous mining equipments tear into it's belly and pull out their booty...

The #BJP Government in its wisdom and strategy decided to award the #Meitei community with Scheduled Tribes status. (Remember the erstwhile Kings of Manipur can me from this community)

Once #Meitei gain the ST status, they can easily occupy the hill estates. This then can be sold to the mining companies at huge profits. This could have become very lucrative for the valley people.

Of course #Kuki do not like this.

In most parts of the world, the precious metals and minerals are found in forest land. The aborigines are pushed out forcibly. With improper compensation.

Their fault - That they were born tribals.

A very peaceful and harmonious #Manipur society has become a battlefield within the past 1 year.

The fracture in social fabric has caused thousands to lose their homes, hundreds lost lives and women raped.

Somewhere deep beneath the ethnic violence that we see, is yet another untold story of precious metals, minerals, Mining lobby, political benefits.
