Goddess
Sometimes she is hot and sexy
arriving from the sea on a shell
with flowing hair.
But sometimes she is glaring
through her angry as hell eyes
with her head shaved —
having had enough.

In honor of the first full moon after the equinox, often called the egg moon, here’s a moon poem inspired by the 17th century Japanese Haiku Poet, Bashō who wrote a lot about the moon
The thick cloud-tops bathe
in bright moon beams, while down here
it’s dark as the grave

A few haiku written in honor of Valentine's day:
I'm smitten again
on the verge of valentines
day—ready for pain
Lately it's as though
our hearts are tied together
with a big red bow
it happened too soon
we fell on the path of love
under the full moon

They stood huddled
together in a blanket—
firelight flashing in their
faces
as they watched
the flames devour
their home.
Their hopes
and wishes
bits of their lives
fly up in sparks
ascending like smoke
and disappearing in
the cold
Full-Wolf-Moon
night.

This is a haiku I wrote in honor of my marriage, since it is our anniversary --
Two bright candle flames
blazing together as one
retaining their names

Walking in the woodland
park
the well worn path
forked
I chose the wildest
one
a sparrow
landed near me
As he sang
several verses
of his touching song
small shards of sorrow
fell from my heart
choosing that path
has made all
the difference
