Putting politics aside: In all seriousness, you really think this is normal behavior toward an 11-year-old boy with a broken arm?
Even if, for the sake of argument, you claim this was self-defense because of the rocks, what possible purpose did the smoke grenade serve at the end?
Afaics, a lot of it arises from anxiety over an unresolved conflict—we have a significant population with a long-standing commitment to Israel who at the same time were brought up aware of the evils of settler-colonialism, but were able to compartmentalize the two issues separate from one another.
Modern social media takes that comfort blanket away, resulting in existential angst, paranoia, and despair. It’s a very light form of what hit Berlin in April and May, 1945.
@brethirsch@IsraeliPM Yes, but Israel is a parasitic colony, and hence needs to stay on the good side of its hosts. Becoming a paragon of prevarication doesn’t help that.
@jtwittorfield@yechielleiter@Mike_Wagenheim So they say. Bibi may be out of power in a few months, and parasitism is too much of their national identity to let go easily.
So I’ll believe it when I see it, but not until then.
@jasontoney_ Sure, but they are just part of the current hysteria market. The article for example mentions “shootings at synagogues” that I suppose we are to get hot and bothered about. But we don’t know who did it or why, so why not all calm down until the police figure out why?
Give a try, I’m all in favor. 👍
Israel’s current defence budget is around $45B, about 9% of its GDP. Since 2023, the US has spent over $10B/year.
To go on its own, it would have to lay out an enormous amount of time and capital; to replace goods on the market, it will have to increase its exports or go further into debt. International BDS is beginning to effect its exports; Americans in one way or another pick up nearly 20% of Israeli debt(iirc), and if they back off there could be real trouble.
There was also an interesting article late last year in +972 on the weaknesses of the Israeli economy, did you read it?
@jtwittorfield@yechielleiter@Mike_Wagenheim If you are serious about looking into this, you can start here, and then dig into all the other ways the US assists Israel, such as it’s military engagement in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea.
Israel is a parasite.

In almost 24 hours, Israel deliberately killed Lebanese Army soldiers, paramedics, and UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
This violates International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Geneva Conventions, Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), 1994 Convention, the UN Charter and Security Council Mandates.
Israel's impunity must end!
@Villgecrazylady Zionists desired southern Lebanon long before Israel was born. Periodically they try to grab it, making up convenient excuses for doing so. But at heart, it's just simple greed.

Eliminated: One first responder after another.
Why: People who care for others are among the most important people in building a strong civil society. So Israel actively engages in "social decapitation": the murdering innocent people who are social social leaders and their families.
It's a trick the Zionists learned from the Nazis.

🔴 Less than a week after Israel burned several preteen children to death in their tents, four more residential apartments were set ablaze overnight, with Israel’s military burning entire families to death as they slept.
The strikes hit homes in Al-Shati refugee camp, the Karama neighborhood, Tel al-Hawa, and Sheikh Radwan in Gaza City.
