The Federal Government has opened applications for the second cohort of the Student Venture Grant, Nigeria’s first federal programme providing equity-free funding for student entrepreneurs with STEM-based business ideas. Fifty outstanding ventures will be selected, with successful applicants eligible to receive up to ₦50 million each to develop and scale their businesses.

Building on the success of the first cohort, which attracted 17,914 applications from 404 institutions across all 36 states and the FCT and produced 45 beneficiaries, the second cohort will feature a nationwide application roadshow across nine tertiary institutions and a campus ambassador programme covering 20 additional institutions.

I welcome the African Union’s announcement that the African Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) will officially launch on October 7. @_AfricanUnion

In February, I made the case in the Financial Times for an African credit rating agency. In May, at the Africa CEO Forum @africaceoforum in Kigali, I spoke again about the need for Africa to build financial institutions that understand our economies and can assess our risks properly.

AfCRA is another step towards that goal.

Africa is not asking for favourable ratings. We are asking for fair ratings, grounded in our fundamentals and in the reforms our economies are actually carrying out.

AfCRA must now earn the confidence of global capital. That confidence will rest on its independence and the rigour of its work.

GEJ established 12 universities; he didn't fund them. ASUU signed the 2009 agreement under him, but he couldn't implement the agreement for six years.

PBAT is the one implementing a 17-year-old agreement today.

ASUU went on strike for 13 MONTHS during GEJ's tenure, from 2010–2014. Provide any data that shows that GEJ spent more money in his six years on education than what Tinubu has spent in two years, in primary, vocational, and tertiary education. Who has achieved more stability?

Tinubu brought NELFUND - zero interest loan and upkeep, free tuition and upkeep for vocational students, TISSF with zero interest loans for academics / lecturers.

By the way, Tinubu has established eight universities if it is by count.

It is also a lie that Tinubu removed all essential subsidies. It was the PDP government that removed subsidies on kerosene, diesel, and cooking gas. They also partially removed subsidies on petrol and FX through incremental adjustments in prices and devaluation.

It was GEJ who ended import subsidies on rice and wheat with a 50% import levy on rice. Tinubu, on the other hand, created an import waiver window and slashed import tariffs on wheat, rice, and palm oil.

GEJ launched the Multi-Year Tariff Order 2 for electricity to effectively wind down subsidies and sold the power companies, but he messed up the process. He lacked the political will.

GEJ took $27bn in loans, depleted the ECA by $20bn, depleted the FX reserves by $12bn, and earned $380bn in net oil earnings. Tinubu hasn't earned 10% of the revenue GEJ earned.

I challenge you to provide the USD value of the foreign loans that Tinubu borrowed.

This is my current solar setup:

Costs roughly 5m.

Without going into detailed calculations, with N265/kw Band A tarrif, I will break-even after the second year.

Meaning that if I paid Nepa for constant electricity (which doesn’t exist even on Band A), I would spend around 5m in 2 years.

And for the next 3 to 8yrs AT LEAST (depending on how long my lithium battery lasts), I will be using next to free RELIABLE electricity.

This is just the cost part of it.

You cannot quantify the improvement it provides to your standard of life.

Not thinking about when next light will come so you continue your project OR bother about the food in the fridge TO even sleeping in heat.

If you don’t have money to buy solar, just say it.
Don’t try to console yourself with lies.
