Dolly Parton didn’t just make music. She built cultural infrastructure.
Across six decades, her influence moved through music, film, business, philanthropy, literacy, and social impact—reaching far beyond the audiences who bought her records.
Through the Imagination Library, she transformed her cultural influence into literacy infrastructure, putting hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children. Her philanthropy also extended into education, healthcare, disaster relief, scientific research, and support for communities in moments of crisis.
We ran Dolly Parton through the Artonomics Cultural Capital Index™ (ACCI).
ACCI Score: 97.9/100
Evidence Confidence: A
Her score isn’t simply a measure of fame. It reflects what she created, the institutions she built, the communities she served, the generations she influenced, and the extraordinary ability of her cultural capital to travel across geography, class, politics, and generations.
11 GRAMMY wins. Both the Country Music and Rock & Roll Halls of Fame. More than 1,000 songs written. Hundreds of millions of books distributed to children. And a cultural legacy that continued creating value far beyond the entertainment industry.
Net worth measures what you own.
ACCI measures what you influence.
Dolly Parton demonstrated that cultural capital can become social capital—and social capital can become infrastructure.
Rest easy, Dolly. 🕊️

— Artonomics Cultural Capital Index™
In 2018, LeBron James reportedly borrowed $300M against his future Nike and business earnings, with repayment pushed out until 2049.
Instead of selling assets or taking the money as taxable income, he used debt to access capital while keeping his assets working for him. 💸

My Artonomics Cultural Capital Index (ACCI) score: 67.5/100.
But ACCI was never created simply to score me.
I created it to challenge the idea that value begins and ends with money.
Culture creates value long before that value appears on a balance sheet. It shapes what we wear, what we listen to, what we believe, what we buy, and how ideas travel across communities and generations.
ACCI is an attempt to build a measurable framework around that influence—evaluating the people who produce cultural capital, not simply the financial value of what they produce.
This is only the beginning. Artonomics will continue publishing ACCI reports on cultural producers alongside research papers and comparative studies designed to deepen the conversation around how culture, influence, and value are measured.
If culture moves markets, institutions, and people—how should we measure its worth?

#motivation#wealth#art#culture POST-AUGUST: THE MARTHA’S VINEYARD REPORT
What is the value of access if the information never makes it back to the people who were denied proximity to it?
For many people who come from an inner-city environment similar to mine—and especially those whose lives have intersected with the prison industrial complex—the rooms I entered on Martha’s Vineyard every August may feel like another world. Many will never have proximity to this epicenter of high-level thinking across finance, technology, culture, philanthropy, politics, media and entrepreneurship. Many may never even know these rooms exist.
That is why my purpose cannot simply be to gain access.
I am there to collect, translate and transmit.
Not to bring information back to the inner city as intellectual theory, but as applied knowledge that can become apps, websites, corporations, cryptocurrencies, blockchains, DAOs, communities, institutions, products, services and entirely new systems of ownership.
The objective is to build a pipeline between the conversations happening on the island in August and the innovation that can happen on the mainland 365 days a year.
Because information becomes valuable when people can apply it.
Access becomes powerful when it becomes infrastructure.
And proximity becomes transformational when the people who were historically furthest from capital, technology and decision-making gain the tools to become builders, owners and architects of what comes next.
From the inner city to the suburbs.
From rural communities to global markets.
From local impact to national infrastructure.
From one generation to the next.
The goal isn’t simply to get into the room. The goal is to expand who can build from what is learned inside it.
