@ronmanagernottm When I was playing football in the 70s we would visit Basford United whose ground was overlooked by the flats. Strangely after the game was finished the sound of the Last Post could be heard from a bugler playing from a top floor window of the flats ! Very strange.

@ronmanagernottm Sunday lunchtime. Mum preparing the roast dinner whilst Dad is downing a few bears at the miners welfare. The radio would be blasting out Two Way Family favourites hosted by ??? Metcalfe with requests coming in from many BFPO (British Forces Post Office). We had a great time!!!

@ronmanagernottm Remember it well. Roy Dwight scored early doors and Forest were cruising when Tommy Wilson nodded home the second. However Dwight was stretchered off the field with a broken leg. Luton pressed but Forest held on to win. I believe the lady in the fur coat was sat in royal box !!
