Did you know? Despite what many fans believe, Lester the dog was not harmed during the filming of Halloween (1978).

Director John Carpenter later revealed that the effect was created by having the dog’s trainer hold him just out of frame while the footage was slowed down to make it appear as though Michael Myers had killed him.

Did you know the Myers House was almost torn down?

After Halloween was filmed in 1978, the house on Meridian Avenue in South Pasadena eventually faced demolition as the area was being redeveloped. For a while, it looked like the iconic home where Michael Myers grew up would be lost forever.

Instead, the house was saved in a pretty incredible way. During a nighttime operation, the entire building was lifted and carefully moved down the street to a new location. Rather than being demolished, it was preserved and given a second chance.

What’s even more amazing is that the house wasn’t just important because of Halloween. The structure itself dates back to the 1880s, making it one of the oldest homes in South Pasadena. Saving it meant preserving both a horror movie landmark and a piece of local history.

Today, the Myers House still stands and remains a popular stop for Halloween fans visiting Southern California. While it no longer sits on its original lot from the film, its familiar look is still instantly recognizable. 🔪

Halloween fans are getting a surprisingly adorable new collectible in 2026. Inspired by classic Polly Pocket and Mighty Max playsets, Trick or Treat Studios has unveiled the officially licensed Halloween (1978) Myers House Pumpkin Micro Maniacs Playset.

The compact jack-o'-lantern case opens to reveal a miniature version of the iconic Myers House complete with working lights, a hinged front door, and even a movable hedge for recreating Michael Myers' stalking scenes.

The set includes tiny figures of Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, and Dr. Loomis, along with the famous station wagon from the original film. Standing approximately five inches tall when closed, the pumpkin-shaped playset packs an impressive amount of detail into a small collectible package.

Fans online have compared the toy to the beloved Polly Pocket and Mighty Max playsets of the 1990s, with many horror collectors already calling it a must-have item.

The officially licensed release is currently scheduled to begin shipping in September 2026 and is expected to be one of the most unique Halloween collectibles released this year. 🔪
