I hope that the Premier reconsiders her desire to invoke the “notwithstanding clause” in dealing with Teachers.
This very rarely used clause, stripping Canadians of civil rights, has no place in collective bargaining.
General strike would be a commensurate response.

So, are we to believe that Trump can talk about annexing our country, and call our PM "governor" but if someone posts quotes of Ronald Regan critical of tariffs it crosses the line into international meddling?
Is this where we are at?
Every Canadian, regardless of their opinion of the Prime Minister or political affiliation, should feel deeply offended by President Trump's remarks. We might one day be grateful for this WAKE-UP CALL. For too long, we have been complacent in our relationships with the United States and the rest of the world. We need to unite and rise to this historic occasion to shape the future of Canada. #cdnpoli
Stephen Harper endorsing Donald Trump is rather on brand. He also has endorsed: Victor Orban, Narendra Modi, Benjamin Netanyahu, Jair Bolsonaro, Boris Johnson, Doug Ford, Scott Moe, Jason Kenney, Andrew Scheer, Danielle Smith, Pierre Poilievre.
A Ballet of Bullshit...
COMMUNITY NOTES: It is landlords, developers, real estate speculators, and banks that DOUBLED housing costs in nine years, not NDPers and Liberals. Other than 3.5% of the housing stock which is publicly owned, government does not set the price of housing in Canada.
Hey Premier Smith why don't you pick on people your own size.
Going after vulnerable kids is appalling & the opposite of using politics to improve lives. It also makes it clear that you only care about saving your own skin. The worst of politics and politicians.
Instead of making life harder for trans kids and adults, it would be nice if the Alberta UCP would work on addressing the overdose crisis, climate change, affordability concerns, expand the number of green energy projects in the province — the list goes on...
The time to do this was when the candidate’s comments were verified (as votes were still being counted).
But Rustad waited until the final ballot was counted and his candidate had already lost.
This is neither courageous nor principled.
And it’s certainly not moral leadership.
Worst… election… ever?
@JenStDen critiques both the BC NDP and BC Conservative #bcpoli campaigns.

Rustad's vow to make things as difficult as possible for NDP to govern and bring them down ASAP tells you all you need to know about the Conservatives' real focus. It's on power and not the people of B.C. #BCelxn24#bcpoli#BCelection2024
I’ll bet you good money if voters weren’t confusing the BC Conservatives for the federal Conservatives — or assuming they’re linked — this race wouldn’t be less close.
Brent Chapman is not "controversial" - he is a residential school denialist who, in the lead up to Orange Shirt Day, said on a podcast that "the residential school business" has been exposed as a "massive fraud." He is also now an MLA, having won in Surrey South handily. Wild.
