@UniLeipzig @AWI_Media @TROPOS_eu @MaxPlanckChemie @LampPhysique @DLR_en @unihh @MPI_Meteo @LMU_Muenchen During #HALOAC3 #HALO and the polar aircraft #Polar5 & #Polar6 performed 8 closely collocated flight mission, in addition to flights jointly carried out with the British @faam146 and the French SAFIRE from #ISLAS2022 campaign.

After #Polar5 & #Polar6 have returned to Bremen and #HALO left Kiruna, it is time to say THANKS to all that were involved in planning and conducting the #HALOAC3 campaign! Great campaign, great team and impressive numbers.

@UniLeipzig @AWI_Media @TROPOS_eu @MaxPlanckChemie @LampPhysique #HALO covered during 17 scientific flights and more than 150 flight hours 113.112 km in the #Arctic. Alltogether, 347 dropsondes were dropped. 80 international scientists and technicians were involved in planning and conducting #HALOAC3 campaign.

Today's action: Last measurment flight of #HALO in the #Arctic during #HALOAC3. Beside a radar calibration, the focus will be on Arctic cirrus clouds observed from above and below to get the radiation fluxes.

Today: the penultimate flight of #HALO during #HALOAC3 is to measure warmer, moist air west of #Svalbard and a trapped large aerosol plume before studying cirrus far to the north in the #Arctic. #AC3TR @UniLeipzig @DLR_en @TROPOS_eu

Today's action: Last combined and colocated flight of all 3 aircraft during #HALOAC3. #HALO will sample the warm moist air south of #Svalbard, while later it will join #Polar5 & #Polar6 west of #Svalbard. It's great to have all 3 together in the #Arctic.
