Thank you Ambassador Scanlon for coming to @TorontoPolice Headquarters. We were pleased to discuss our work and further awareness of our community engagement.
@KavitaAlguMD@PeelPolice@GAC_Corporate@CanadaFP@AnitaAnandMP@SeanFraserMP@gary_srp I was there… Unfortunately, the police treated us very badly.They refused to give us any information about him… We were trying to contact him by phone, but it was taken from him… Later, we learned that he had been taken in a police car to a mosque outside the airport…1-2
My motion calling on Canada to examine its risk of complicity in grave violations of international law in Gaza was defeated 40-12.
Here is the exchange that preceded the vote:
ACQUITTAL & WITHDRAWAL
On November 10, 2024, and again on May 17, 2025, my client, David Shultz, was arrested at Palestine solidarity protests in Toronto.
The past week saw both prosecutions collapse - one through a withdrawal, and the other through an acquittal after trial.
Antisemitism is a major & growing problem in Canada, & a blight on our democratic health. Criticism of Israeli policies is legitimate & necessary. But attacks on Jewish Canadians simply because of their religion or the denial of Israel's right to exist is bigoted and idiotic.
@TPSOperations@TorontoPolice
Isn't this racism against Palestinians? Will you arrest her, or are you afraid as usual? Wait. Let me guess. You're afraid.
FYI..I personally gave these photos, her name, and her phone number to a police officer who was there, and I know his name.
The Toronto police are being secretive about the details behind the "willful promotion of hatred" charges (the antisemitic sign that one man held, but somehow 5 have been charged)
This is all the while they ignored this woman Rinat Samuel, an Israeli immigrant and religious Zionist who violated the hate crime code weekly, for months, with this sign, in a willful promotion of hatred against Palestinians
@CanadianPM Did you know that 12 Canadian citizens were kidnapped by Zionists and tortured, with many of them being raped? Have you considered requesting to meet them after their return to Canada? Or are you too busy?
