A bike ride in support of black lives matter & promoting health in the black community begins at 11am from Sleeping Giant State Park. Ride S/B Whitney to Dixwell S/B on Dixwell to New Haven en route to NH Green. Motorists should use caution with cyclists on the road in this area.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY UPDATE
A large contingent of people that attended the tribute to Mr. George Floyd have begun to march southbound on Dixwell Avenue.
Whitney Avenue is open to northbound/southbound traffic.
Please avoid Dixwell Avenue, between Evergreen Ave and Connolly Parkway.
The Hamden Police Dept has learned that at the conclusion of today’s tribute to Mr. George Floyd, there will be a march, southbound on Dixwell Ave. The march will conclude in and around the area of Dixwell Ave-Connolly Parkway. Please use alternate routes- more to follow.
A tribute honoring the life of Mr. George Floyd is currently underway at Hamden Memorial Town Hall, 2394 Whitney Avenue. Vehicular traffic should avoid the area in and around Dixwell Avenue and Whitney Avenue until further.
7am tomorrow,Tuesday 4/21, through 5:30pm on Wednesday 4/22, Skiff St will be one way traffic Eastbound from Dixwell to Whitney. Please consider alternate routes.
