'Long Live the Shah!'
In Isfahan, brave schoolgirls defy the regime by tearing photos of Khomeini from their books and shredding them while they chant. https://t.co/xz13NDzQVb
At a girls’ school in Iran, students throw portraits of Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei into the trash and write “Long Live the Shah!” on classroom walls and the board.
Alireza Sepahi married in prison while facing execution. A heart attack delayed his hanging. The Islamic Republic killed him anyway, and executed Alireza Raeesi alongside him.
Our thoughts are with Mahshad and both families.
Those who ordered, authorised and carried out these killings must face justice. We will not stop demanding accountability.
According to reports, the Islamic Republic is preparing to execute Alireza Sepahi and Alireza Raeesi, two protesters detained during Iran’s nationwide uprising in January, within hours. Their families have reportedly been summoned to Isfahan Prison for final visits.
Time is running out to save their lives. We urgently call on governments, human rights organizations, international bodies, and civil society and political activists to use every means at their disposal during these critical hours to halt the executions and save Alireza Sepahi and Alireza Raeesi.
Every action taken, every form of pressure applied, and every voice raised could prove decisive.
Act now to save the lives of these two young men.

Alireza Sepahi got married in prison. The next day, the regime in Iran executed him.
He married Mahshad Kashani while facing a death sentence. They were denied even a final meeting as husband and wife. She is serving five years in prison. Now she must grieve her husband behind bars.
The Islamic Republic executed Alireza alongside another detained protester, Alireza Raeesi.
These were two people with families and futures. Remembering their names matters. So does holding those responsible for their deaths accountable.

It’s time to arm the Iranian people and let them finish the job of taking back their country from the radical mullahs who stole it from them 47 years ago
