Year 3 and 4 were treated to a fantastic visit from author @mrsnicolabaker this morning. We got to find out all about her life on the farm and how she writes her stories - just like baking a cake! Thank you to @Our_Bookshop in Tring for organising and of course to Nicola Baker!
Shhhhh! Everyone is sleeping! It's 1.30am here at the Y4 Sleepover and all is very quiet. The children had a great evening watching Luca, eating popcorn, biscuits and having hot chocolate. Everyone was fast asleep by 10.30pm and some much earlier than that! π΄π΄π΄
Well done to our Y3 and 4 Girls Football Team who were playing today in the Buckinghamshire County Finals! We were playing against some very tough competition but everyone kept their heads up and showed great perseverance, self-belief and integrity. We're very proud of them!
What a day! Thank you so much to all the staff who made it possible, and all the other days like it. It's been a great experience and we hope the pupils have really enjoyed it, as well as learning all about the Geography and History of our beautiful coastline!
Plenty more fieldwork followed, including beach profiles (look forward to a cup of beach heading home very soon!) and sketches of a square of sand.#Southsea2023
On the beach we dipped our toes in the water to feel the push and pull of the waves and gain a better understanding of erosion in action. #Southsea2023
We practised being Victorian holidaymakers as we walked down the pier and were very brave walking with the waves beneath us on the fishing platform! #Southsea2023
On our walk to the pier we spotted some great examples of coastal management strategies, linked to our Geography topic. Just look at that rock armour! #Southsea2023
We are heading back from the coast at the end of a fantastic fieldtrip! Get ready for a big photo drop, staring with History where we visited Southsea Castle, built in the Tudor period!
Year 4 are off on their fieldtrip to Southsea! Coach 1 is heading to the Castle first to see where Henry VIII watched the Mary Rose sink; Coach 2 will start at the beach with some fieldwork activites before a walk on the pier. Then we'll swap! #Southsea2023
Well done to our Y4 girls football team for coming second in today's Wycombe and Marlow tournament! Four wins, a draw and one loss gave them 15 points, just one short of the winning total. Fantastic performance from the whole team!
And that, ladies and gentleman, is how we do that! What a fantastic night. Massive thank you to all the staff who helped make it happen, today, yesterday, all week and in the months since we first had the idea. We hope the children enjoyed it as much as we did! #Y4Sleepover2022
