I will not second guess Kretinsky or assume I know his motivation or if he will be successful. I refuse to compare him to the "shiny thing", Amanda Staveley, who offered us a new stadium before even becoming a shareholder.

I will not cheer Kretinsky to his seat (should he start using it), because he is just the latest in a pitiful cast of characters who have been in it for themselves.

Anyone who claims to know what motivates his investment in West Ham is lying. Nobody knows and that includes Sullivan and his offspring. People quote him quite often, but because he speaks so little, they know he won't deny it.

If I were to guess, maybe he "just" wants to turn us into a successful and profitable business and then collect his winnings by selling up? Would that be such a bad thing? That would be my guess, but that's all it is.

As chairman with a 46% stake and his mate Jacob with under 2%, he doesn't have a majority stake and so we need to know that a new Shareholder agreement gives him the ability to act unilaterally. We need to wait to hear from the man himself.

That aside, for me he starts today with a clean slate. The reason I am being charitable is because is all he has done wrong is to be the only person ever to inject significant personal wealth into our club. He's done it 3 times now - initial purchase, a rights issue and the latest transaction.

Nobody has invested in West Ham like he has. That's just a cold, hard fact. For that alone he deserves time to find his feet being new to the driver's seat.

But.

My respect for him is earned through his actions, from today onwards. No more empty words, no empty promises and years of "we tried" or "don't go to bed, dg". No fake bids and leaking out bullshit rumours to make us look busy, then settling for a cheap loan on deadline day. But didn't he just do that? Well yes, but consider the unique circumstances that justify my patience.

He inherited operational control of this club at a time when it was well and truly under water and drowning fast. We were primed for other clubs to steal our prized assets for low money, we know this would have happened under Sullivan.

We started the summer around £350m in debt and we've just closed that gap to likely just under £200m. We still have a competitive team even after moving around 20 players out the door.

No buying team paid less than our asking price. We kept Bowen, Taty and Dinos and we've somehow scraped together a decent looking squad. Let's not underestimate the work that has gone on this summer and after my initial doubts, credit goes to Karim Varani, Nils Koppen and ultimately, Kretinsky, for getting us here in a short space of time. Like I keep saying, I believe in actions not words.

We have scraped together a squad that might just be good enough to stay in touch ahead of January, but time and football matches will tell the truth. It is likely we will need a few key additions in January if we can stay in touch with the top 6 before then. It could genuinely be a season of two halves for us.

Above all else though, the club's survival was in question after relegation and selling players for good money was the thing we had to do. Nuno was kept for continuity I guess, while the squad was stripped down and rebuilt around him. For the record I did not want to keep Nuno and still don't, but I will support his team and hope for the best. I do however see, in this extreme instance, why keeping him might have been justified.

Back to Kretinsky. He took the reigns from Sullivan and had to set about repairing all those years of mis-management and the damage it caused. In just a few months he's overseen a huge rebuild that may or may not be successful, and kept the business solvent amidst a huge debt crisis.

Ultimately Kretinsky will be judged by fans on what happens on the pitch, because we are a football club after all. This fact escaped Sullivan, especially when David Gold departed. Prague inflated Sullivan's self-believe that he was a genius and he stepped up his policy of signing over-priced players based on who their agents were, not their usefulness as a player.

Whether this was plain incompetence, the deranged actions of a narcissist or a deliberate profiteering from our demise, I cannot say. I know which one I think it is.

And that is why, apart from all the abuse stuff, the key reason why Sullivan should not be allowed to have any form of control over our club from now on. I will not believe he doesn't until I have it confirmed.

I need a clear and unambiguous statement from Kretinsky, confirming that Sullivan has no input or ability to block his decisions. Also I want it confirmed that his kids who sit on the board are not in a position to represent daddy's wishes by proxy, because let's face it, Sullivan has a long history in managing by proxy, going back decades.

But let me be clear, even if Kretinsky says the right things, it will be his actions that really matter.

I suggest that Daniel Kretinsky signs up to this year's campaign, we could call it #NoMoreBS - No More Bullshit!
