@Santliang@TaiwanFreedom89@TerribleMaps Honestly, it’s painful to be forced under a regime that has never ruled your home, and even harder when your country lacks global recognition. The PRC ignores the reality of two governments, but for us in Taiwan, being annexed by them brings absolutely no good.
@Santliang@TaiwanFreedom89@TerribleMaps China' is a cultural and geographical region, not a single state. Two separate governments exist across it: the PRC rules the mainland, while the ROC (Republic of China)—established earlier—governs Taiwan. The PRC has never actually ruled Taiwan. Hope this helps clear things up!
@TerribleMaps Since you're making these cool info graphics, it would be awesome if you could distinguish between the 'PRC' and the 'ROC' next time! Thanks again for making these!"
@TerribleMaps Most of that area is governed by the PRC, while another smaller part, Taiwan, is governed by the ROC —which is a fully democratic country. Unfortunately, because the PRC is so powerful, the ROC isn't officially recognized by most countries internationally.
