@C2Cbsbl@GarlicFryRy Nobody expects KBO ceilings to translate 1:1 to MLB or else Jung Hoo hitting .340 in the KBO would make him a MLB HOF with those numbers.
Crazy thing is with Lee currently hitting .332, he’s getting pretty close 1:1 anyway… Shattering the KBO players’ ceiling
@GarlicFryRy@C2Cbsbl Same, I agree completely. And I 100% knew impatient fans would not hold well with ANY adjustment period. 🙄
We saw that adjustment with Ha Seong Kim, and Lee has completely elevated the perceived ceiling for KBO players in the MOB.
@C2Cbsbl@GarlicFryRy Evidently not. Not nearly 2 full seasons and he’s adjusted to be a batting title contender.
Lee turning it around proves that your sample size was not nearly enough.
We all knew with precedents like Ha Seong Kim that an adjustment period for overseas players is almost certain.
@GarlicFryRy@C2Cbsbl Nah the issue is when other people don’t understand that baseball needs MUCH much much bigger sample sizes to make sweeping assertions like saying Jung Hoo Lee is a bad player.
I noticed football and basketball commentators esp have this issue when talking about baseball too.
@PavlovicNBCS Is a Lee RF, Eldridge 1B, Schmitt 2B, Devers DH, Chapman 3B, Adames SS, Bericoto LF, Cox CF, Haase C too much to ask for??? SMHHHH 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@ConnGiantsFan@maryuulll You are wayyy underplaying Bailey’s defense. As spectacular of a defender Chapman has been, Bailey’s been even better by every metric. He objectively deserved the Platinum glove last year by numbers.
Bailey’s offense has obviously been abysmal. Yes. This is still shocking.
